WPACT is pleased to release details of the 2025 Junior Winter Competition.

The competition will be played in a gala day format over 4 weekends during the winter period.

The format allows for players to still get a taste of Water Polo during the busy representative season as well as participate in winter season sports if they choose. It also allows our regional friends to join in on the fun!

WPACT is seeking Expressions of Interest from those wishing to join the Water Polo ACT leadership team for 2025.

If you feel you could contribute to the WPACT representative program as a state lead, coach, assistant coach team manager or referee we want to hear from you!

Water Polo ACT (WPACT) is excited to welcome Alexandra Spark as President and Liam Shepherd as Vice President, marking a new chapter in the growth of water polo in the ACT.

Alexandra’s appointment is a milestone as she becomes WPACT’s first female President. Following a period of significant growth, the organisation is now focused on assessing its needs and planning for the sport’s next phase.

Water Polo ACT (WPACT) has committed to create a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and establish a dedicated Working group to support and promote growth, respect and sustainable opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the sport of Water Polo. 

As such, WPACT is calling for expressions of interest from suitable individuals to contribute in the WPACT RAP Working group.

All WPACT members are invited to attend the 2024 WPACT Annual General Meeting on Sunday 27th October 2024 at 3pm at the The Canberra Labor Club, Belconnen. Members can register to attend at the link below.

Nominations for the position of Director are being called and must be returned to the Chief Executive Officer on or before 17th October 2024. Nomination forms are available at the link below.

WPACT is seeking applications for a newly developed Regional Development Officer role. The role is to provide administration and development support for regional clubs and associations within the WPACT catchment area.

Based in Wagga Wagga NSW, the Regional Development Officer will provide critical support to develop Water Polo in the Riverina region and improve member experience.

Water Polo ACT and the Canberra Kraken have extended their strategic partnership for a further 12 months are a successful launch in 2024.

The partnership's purpose is to provide opportunities to senior Water Polo athletes based in the ACT catchment, allowing them to pursue a tailored and meaningful representative pathway.

WPACT will be hosting a short two-round winter competition for our senior athletes in August 2024. The point of difference will be that instead of playing as clubs, athletes are nominated to play and drafted into teams.

This change in structure aims to break down divides between clubs and create a fun new product for players to participate in that is completely different to regular club water polo. A social event will be organised after the games to bring the community together.

The competition structure will follow similar structures of previous years. The competition will be played in a gala day format over 4 weeks during the winter period.
